Reza Zain Jaufeerally studied law and economics at Universities of Leuven, Bristol (UWE) and Kent. He was called to the English bar (Middle Temple) in 2003.

In addition to an LLB and the BVC, he holds a triple LLM with specializations in International Business Law, Intellectual Property Law and Information Communication Technology Law from the University of Leuven.

Since 2008, he is a researcher in Islamic Finance, Ethical Finance and Socially Responsible Investment at the University of Leuven. He was expert for, amongst others, the Paris Chamber of Commerce, the Central Bank of Italy and the Belgian Government.

Born in Mauritius, he has dual Belgian and Mauritian nationality.
